- A council permit is needed if the skip goes on a public road or pavement. We can help with this.
- Some items can’t go in a skip, so please check the list below.
- Please don’t overload the skip.
- Give us at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or change a booking.
Hire period and permits
- Hire period: Standard hire is up to 14 days unless we’ve agreed otherwise. If you need the skip for longer, just ask and we’ll arrange an extended hire.
- Permits: If the skip needs to go on a public road, pavement or other public land, a permit is required. We can help you get one from the local council.
What can go in the skip
- Items we can’t accept: For safety and legal reasons, the following can’t be put in our skips:
- hazardous waste
- asbestos
- batteries
- tyres
- paint tins
- fridges and freezers
- gas cylinders
Not sure about something? Give us a call before you fill the skip.
- Overloading: Please don’t overload the skip. An overloaded skip isn’t safe to move and breaks road transport rules, so overloaded skips may incur an extra charge.
Delivery and collection
- Access: Please make sure there’s clear, safe access for our lorry to deliver and collect the skip. If you think there may be any access problems, let us know before delivery.
- Looking after the skip: Once delivered, the skip is in your care until we collect it. Any damage to the skip, or its loss, may be charged.
Cancellations and changes
- Notice: If you need to cancel or change your booking, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice.
Payment
- Payment terms: Payment is due when you book or when the skip is delivered. We’ll confirm how you can pay when you book.
Liability
- Damage to property: We always take care when delivering and collecting skips. However, we can’t accept responsibility for damage to private property during delivery or collection where adequate access hasn’t been provided. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
